Greg generally doesn’t take the initiative when it comes to cooking. He will help out with whatever I’m making, but he doesn’t usually plan meals. My parents are visiting, so last night I asked Greg to make a salad while I worked on other things. Greg gave me a puzzled look. A salad? What is this thing that you call a salad? How do I go about making this salad thing? I gave up and asked my mom to help instead.
I’m pretty sure Greg knows what a salad is because we eat them regularly. I’m not sure how he thinks they are getting to the kitchen table. Perhaps a kitchen elf magically chops all the vegetables with a wave of her wand. What a mysterious food, the salad, such an array of bright colors and textures. One of these days, I’m going to give Greg his magical wand so that he too can make salad.
